What do you buy that aunt you only see once a year? Have you finally bought your grandad too many pairs of socks?
These are tricky questions we have to answer at Christmas, as we face the daunting prospect of present-buying.
But don’t worry GRIDSERVE’s elves have been hard at work throughout the year and have the perfect Christmas gift guide for the EV-lover in your life.
A new electric car on the driveway come Christmas morning is probably bit of out of budget but how about some of these tree-mendous EV-inspired stocking fillers?
Electric car bracelet charm
Leaving small boxes wrapped by jewellery stores under the tree is a dangerous game to play (we’ve all seen Love Actually), but we think we’ll make an exception for this gem. Designed to fit the popular Pandora charm bracelet, this electric car charm comes complete with spare wheel and personalised ‘LOVE’ number plate. Cute.
LEGO electric sports car
Few things are more exciting for kids (and let’s be honest, adults) than ripping open the wrapping paper to see the famous LEGO badge. And we think this might be the best one yet from the Scandi toymaker. An electric sports car – that owes more than a little to the Porsche Taycan design – is the perfect present for young and old. We love this even more because it comes with a solar-powered charger. All it’s missing is a GRIDSERVE logo.
Charging cable bag
Cables can be messy. We’ve all lost our rag untangling the Christmas lights at least once and don’t even get us started on that drawer with the mystery bundle of laptop and phone chargers from the last decade. Why not help your family or friend get on top of their EV charging cable etiquette with a carrier bag that’ll keep Type 2 cables tidied away, either in the boot for use on the go or in the garage.
Recycled car mats
Plenty of new EVs have ditched plastics and leather for more sustainable materials that align with their zero emissions ethos. One of those elements is floor mats, with many now featuring carpets made from recycled fishing nets and the like. If you’re still using older mats and want an eco upgrade, why not try some made from recycled tyres. Better still, you know they won’t wear out any time soon.
Charging cable cover
Want to make sure they’re keeping on top of elf and safety? Look no further than some protection for home charging cables. If cables are running across pavements or even garage floors, a cable protector is vital for preventing people tripping over and spending Christmas Day at A&E instead of tucking into some mince pies. Sure, it might not be the sexiest gift but sometimes it pays to be safe.
Charging port cover
We’ve all gone out to our cars in the morning and found the windscreen wipers or door handles frozen stiff. Fortunately, electric cars have pretty cool pre-conditioning technology that prevents the majority of this. And for complete cold protection, why not try this charger port cover that uses a magnet to clip onto your car and will stop the charger flap mechanism freezing and stop the port filling up with snow or ice – you wouldn’t want your partner getting chilly fingers while they’re unplugging.
Recycled sea plastic phone charging cables
Ok, so you’re all sorted for charging your car but what about your phone? Chances are you’ve lost a few cables down the back of sofas or in kids’ school bags, so you’re probably in need of a replacement or two for your car. If you’re not lucky enough to have an EV equipped with wireless phone charging, try these cables made from recycled fishing net plastics.
