Daily leftovers from Costa Coffee and Little Fresh at the London Gatwick Electric Forecourt® are now available on the Too Good To Go app.
It means customers can now purchase tasty meals and treats for a fraction of the cost, while helping save the planet.
By signing up, we estimate that we’ll be able to save over 100 meals a month from being wasted, helping to avoid 300kg of CO2e emissions – that’s approximately the same as driving 1,000 miles in a petrol car.
It’s part of our belief that to truly move the needle on climate change we need a collaborative effort. We’re doing our bit with electric vehicles and net zero carbon energy, while also supporting those in other areas, such as food waste.
It’s a massive problem across the globe with around 2.5 billion tonnes of food thrown away each year by cafes, grocery stores and restaurants. It’s responsible for a staggering 10% of greenhouse gas emissions (more than the whole aviation industry).
Too Good To Go, the world’s largest marketplace for surplus food, is part of the solution and last year helped to save over 120 million meals last year.
GRIDSERVE now offers four Surprise Bags each day from Costa Coffee and Little Fresh on the innovative Too Good To Go app.
Each bag is priced £3.50 and is filled with goods worth at least £11, including fruit, vegetables, sandwiches and snacks from Little Fresh and sandwiches, salads, pastries and cakes from Costa Coffee.
The bags are loaded onto the Too Good To Go app in the mornings for users to reserve, with collection taking place between 6pm and 8pm from the Costa Coffee counter at the London Gatwick Electric Forecourt®.
