Using our GRIDSERVE electric vehicle charging app, available to download for free from app stores, you can explore hundreds of charging locations across the award-winning GRIDSERVE Electric Highway.

You can plan your journey, monitor your charge remotely and easily access receipts.

Download the app from Apple Play Store or Google Play Store for free using the links below. Our app is the one with the GRIDSERVE logo and teal background and is available on all UK sim cards.

The GRIDSERVE app is compatible with devices supporting iOS 16 or later, and Android 9 or later. We are unable to support Beta releases at this stage. Please verify that your phone meets these specifications before getting started.

When you open our app for the first time, you’ll be prompted to create an account. The process is intuitive, and the app will guide you through the process every step of the way.

Just to help you see how easy it is, we have outlined the step-by-step instructions below:

  1. Click on ‘create an account’.

  2. Fill out your basic personal details.

  3. Enter the one time verification code sent to your email. We send this to check you have entered the right email address.

  4. Set your account password.

  5. Opt-in/opt-out of promotional communications from GRIDSERVE.

  6. Read the Terms and Conditions and make sure you’re happy.

  7. Congratulations! That’s your new account all set up.

  8. Add a payment method (optional).

    After setting up your account, you’ll have the opportunity to streamline the charging experience by adding a payment card directly to the app. This means fewer steps at the charger since you won’t need to physically tap your card on the payment device.

    Follow the on-screen instructions to securely add your preferred payment method, noting that you can add more than one contactless card or use Apple Pay or Google Pay.

When a card is added to the app, the payment system initiates a pre-authorisation. This is done solely to verify the payment method, and no charges are applied to the card. It means we won’t have to do pre-authorisation every time you charge, as we do with contactless payments.

Firstly, please check if you’ve received your verification email. Sometimes it can end up in your junk folder, so it’s worth taking a peek there. If you can’t locate the email, double-check that you’ve entered the correct email address, including the .com or .co.uk part, which can be easily mistyped.

Using the ‘account’ area on the bottom navigation, you will find a section called ‘security and privacy’. Here you will find an option to ‘close account’ which will delete your account.

This will mean that you can no longer access this account and the account will be closed. However, as per our Terms and Conditions we do retain your information for a period of seven years as part of our payment regulations. For full removal of your account, you can make a request using the Terms and Conditions area of our website.

Please note, once you choose to close your account, you cannot undo this.

Top Tip: What is a charger ID?

Each charger has a unique ID (e.g.GS10001) that we use to identify units across our network. To find the charger ID look in the top right hand corner of the charger unit for ‘GS’ followed by a 5-digit number. This same ID can be found in the app and allows you to make sure you are selecting the correct charger.

Good to know: Forgotten passwords

If you forget the password to the app, there is an option to reset using the email address your account is connected to. If you have any questions, please contact the customer service team.
