GRIDSERVE has been crowned ‘EV Chargepoint Operator of the Year’ at the Fleet News Awards 2024 for the second year in a row.
The prestigious annual awards, which are decided by a panel of industry experts, named GRIDSERVE as back-to-back winner for its continued excellence in delivering reliable, High Power charging and the incredible growth of the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway.
Judges praised the network of Electric Forecourts®, Electric Super Hubs and Electric Retail Hubs for its reliability, charging speeds and accessibility. They also recognised GRIDSERVE’s ability to rectify any charging faults quickly, aided by its fully electric nationwide rapid response service fleet and in-house call centre.
The GRIDSERVE EV Gurus, which assist customers at our Braintree, Norwich and London Gatwick Electric Forecourts®, received special praise from the judges for helping EV drivers charge easily.
The inclusion of wide bays at sites, which can accommodate vehicles of all shapes and sizes, were also marked as a key factor in the victory, as well as contactless payment across the network with easy access to charging receipts via an online portal and the ability to sign up for automatic receipts direct to your inbox after each charge.
The ‘EV Chargepoint Operator of the Year’ win highlights the vast investment made by GRIDSERVE in electric vehicle charging infrastructure over the past 12 months.
In 2023, we delivered over 1.9 million charging sessions, which helped power over 160 million zero emission miles. That’s the equivalent of saving 44,000 tonnes of CO2 compared to petrol or diesel miles.
In total, more than 300 charging bays were added across the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway – triple the amount installed in the previous year. And 2024 is already on track to set new records in the nationwide rollout of EV charging.
It’s growth that is desperately needed as EV uptake continues to rise, with one million electric cars and vans now on UK roads and forecasts suggesting the two million landmark will be hit in as little as two years.
