Solar-powered ice lolly stand begins GRIDSERVE Electric Highway tour

With the British weather finally resembling something like summer, we’re heading out on a special UK tour across the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway.

Our new solar-powered ice lolly stand – developed and built by the experts at GRIDSERVE Technologies – will appear at several charging hubs over the next few weeks, towed by the electric Kia EV9.

With its striking green and lightning bolt design, you won’t be able to miss it. Make sure you say hello to our team, who will be handing out ice lollies to customers (and their families!) that download our new app.

The stand, which debuted at Dobbies Swindon, features two huge freezer compartments kept cool by a battery that’s topped up by solar panels on the roof.

Using technology that lets our engineers keep an eye on our chargers, we’ll also be able to track the stand remotely to see how much sunlight it’s capturing, the state of charge and the freezer temperature – all in real-time.

We’ll be fully stocked with ice lollies from Lickalix with four flavours on offer: natural cola, strawberry lemonade, citrus burst and raspberry mango.

All are natural, healthy and organic… and with packaging that’s plastic-free, they’re the perfect planet-friendly companion to our solar stand.

So, if you’re out and about on the network, make sure to download the app, secure 20% off your charge (T&Cs apply) and look out for a free ice lolly.
