GRIDSERVE named most used UK public electric car charging network in Zap-Map survey

GRIDSERVE has been named as the most used public electric car charging network in the UK by drivers in the latest report by Zap-Map.

Over half of EV drivers asked have used the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway in the last year to power up their work commutes and holiday road trips.

The annual Zap-Map EV Charging Insights Report 2024 reveals that although the majority can charge at home, over 50% of EV drivers still use a public network at least once a month.

Nearly two-thirds of these charging sessions take place at motorway services (such as our Electric Super Hubs), while the number using electric vehicle charging hubs – like our Electric Forecourts® – has also soared in the last year.

The varied use and increasing demand for public charging, highlights the importance of reliable and convenient High Power charging that the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway is delivering.

At GRIDSERVE, we’re continually rolling out new sites across the network, as well as expanding our most in-demand sites to provide charging where drivers need it most, such as Moto Rugby, Moto Exeter and Moto Wetherby. We’ve also released our app to make it easier than ever to find, monitor and pay for your charge.

Almost 4,000 EV drivers across the UK make up the Zap-Map report, with positive charging experiences resulting in an overall 87% EV satisfaction score. Just 3% said they wanted to go back to petrol or diesel.
