GRIDSERVE is continuing to strengthen public electric vehicle charging across the UK with the opening of a new Electric Retail Hub at The Moorland Centre in Lincoln. GRIDSERVE has installed six dual charging units, which allow two cars to charge at once at Medium Power speeds, for a longer stay at the location. The hub features 12 charging bays to ensure space for all visitors including two accessible bays to support both larger vehicles and disabled customers.
To make it as easy as possible for customers to charge their electric vehicles (EVs), all GRIDSERVE Super Hub and Retail Hub locations feature both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors, accept contactless payment and provide real-time status updates to a myriad of popular EV charging maps. The chargers are powered by 100% net zero carbon energy from the company’s pioneering hybrid solar + battery farms, supporting GRIDSERVE’s purpose to move the needle on climate change.
Since 2021, 31 Electric Super and Retail Hubs have opened with over 250 brand new chargers available to drivers on some of the UK’s busiest roads.
Toddington Harper, CEO of GRIDSERVE, said: “We are very excited to open another awesome Electric Retail Hub at The Moorland Centre and look forward to welcoming shoppers and visitors passing through Lincoln. Our Electric Retail Hubs make going EV easy as they allow drivers to fit charging seamlessly into their other daily, weekly or monthly activities.”
Altaf Bharde, The Moorland Centre, said: “We are thrilled to open a GRIDSERVE Electric Retail Hub at Moorland Centre. It is great to be able to help EV drivers recharge while visiting our fantastic facilities. Together with the landlords, FPG POLAR UK Ltd, we are committed to supporting the rollout of electric vehicle chargers nationwide.”
In 2023, GRIDSERVE has at least 50 High Power charger locations already opened, awaiting energisation or in construction, equal to more than 400 High Power chargepoints added to the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway.
