GRIDSERVE has installed over 100 High Power chargepoints so far this year as the latest Electric Super Hub opens at Abbey Retail Park in St Ives, near the A141 and A14. The new location has six High Power chargers, capable of up to 350kW, open everyone, from those living locally to those driving through the area or stopping at one the many food outlets available in the retail park.

To make it as easy as possible for customers to charge their electric vehicle (EV), all GRIDSERVE locations feature both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors, accept contactless payment and provide real-time status updates to a myriad of popular EV charging maps. The chargers are powered by 100% net zero carbon energy from the company’s pioneering hybrid solar + battery farms, supporting GRIDSERVE’s purpose to move the needle on climate change.

Since 2021, 26 Electric Super and Retail Hubs have opened with over 200 new High Power chargers available to drivers on some of the UK’s busiest roads. In 2022, over 100 High Power chargers were installed in 12 months, GRIDSERVE has now reached the same milestone in seven months, with many more locations in construction or planning for the rest of 2023.

Toddington Harper, CEO of GRIDSERVE, said: “I am thrilled that we have reached 100 High Power chargers this year with another superb Electric Super Hub. Nearly half of the total High Power chargers on the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway have been installed in the last seven months, showing the great pace and commitment from our teams to give the UK the charging network it deserves. We look forward to continuing this speed and scale throughout the rest of 2023 and beyond.”

Nick Sutton, Abbey Retail Park, said: “We know that for some EV drivers finding such High Power chargers locally has been a challenge for some time, so we are very happy to welcome GRIDSERVE to the Park.”
