GRIDSERVE launches EV Travel Guide to help families holiday sustainably this summer

The school summer holidays are well underway with millions of families heading off on trips.

And while airports will be packed to the rafters, a third of Brits will choose to staycation this year and head to the nation’s seaside resorts, historic towns and tourist attractions.

To help families make the most of the summer – and keep kids entertained, GRIDSERVE has produced the complete EV Travel Guide.

The EV Travel Guide ranks the best holiday hotspots, tourist attractions and music festivals for electric vehicle (EV) drivers with locations all across the UK.

The rankings take into account a range of metrics, such as proximity to High Power charging on the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway, the number of AC and DC charging points in the region, nearby accommodation with EV charging and on-site charging.

The most EV-friendly holiday hotspots

The results are in. The best UK holiday destination for EV drivers in summer 2024 is the picturesque and historic city of York.

Famed for its cathedral and medieval shopping streets, it’s also surrounded by EV charging both on motorways, local streets and at hotels. It’s closely followed by Newcastle and Manchester.

For those wanting a sea breeze, Newquay, Brighton, Torbay and Great Yarmouth all feature in the top 20, while holidaymakers wanting a nature retreat should check out the New Forest or Keswick.
